Sports & Stadiums

A New York crowd is part of the show. Choose the game, concert or activity first; the arena is only the address.

Not sure where to start? Our New York sports planning guide compares games, tours and places to play, with practical advice on tickets, travel and kosher meals.

Watch a game or concert. Start with Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Citi Field in Queens or Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Each guide covers tickets, the journey and what families should know. A stadium tour is a separate booking, not a substitute for an event ticket.

Baseball beside the beach. Maimonides Park and the Brooklyn Cyclones pair a Coney Island boardwalk walk with a minor-league home game. Choose a confirmed fixture and leave time for the journey from Manhattan; this is a different outing from a Mets game at Citi Field.

Go behind the scenes—or play yourself. Compare the tours at Madison Square Garden and Citi Field, reserve a court at the USTA National Tennis Center, or choose golf, skating or a family session at Chelsea Piers.

Basketball without an arena ticket. The Cage at West 4th Street is a free, flexible stop in Greenwich Village; Rucker Park in Harlem adds a remarkable story of basketball, mentoring and hip-hop. Choose whichever fits your day. Both can be worthwhile short visits, but neither promises a game whenever you arrive. For an organized tournament, confirm the date before traveling.

Leave time for the train. UBS Arena is in Elmont on Long Island; Prudential Center is in Newark, New Jersey. For soccer, Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison is reached via PATH; choose a Red Bulls or Gotham home fixture first. These New Jersey and Long Island venues need their own travel allowance, rather than a quick Midtown detour.

NFL football across the Hudson. MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford is home to the Giants and Jets, with concerts and separately booked stadium tours. For an event, confirm the special train schedule; for a tour, arrange transport independently of the game-day service.

The city becomes the grandstand. Our 2026 NYC Marathon spectator guide helps you choose a free street-side cheering spot for Sunday, November 1, compare paid finish-line seating and arrange a meeting with your runner afterward. This is a dated event, not an attraction available every week.

Make room for a kosher meal before the event. For a Shabbat-observant evening, choose Sunday through Thursday outside Jewish holidays. Open a guide below for booking details, age rules and the practical differences between a game, a concert and a daytime visit.
