Landmarks & History

New York’s history lives in grand buildings, small streets and the harbor between them. Choose one part of the city and give its stories time to unfold.

Arrival, memory and the harbor. Plan a ticketed island visit with our Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island guide. Downtown, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum separates the free outdoor Memorial from the museum visit. One World Observatory is a separate skyline experience; leave a break between reservations.

Lower Manhattan on foot. Our Wall Street walk connects financial landmarks with early Jewish history. Follow the waterfront to South Street Seaport for historic ships and museum choices, or choose the Brooklyn Bridge as the main walk. A neighborhood route and a museum ticket are different commitments.

Midtown without a full-day commitment. Explore the public spaces at Rockefeller Center, look up inside Grand Central, or take in Times Square. The guides distinguish free visits from paid tours, observation decks and shows.

Streets with their own personality. In Greenwich Village, follow smaller streets from Washington Square toward the Hudson. In Harlem, build a day around art, architecture and musical history. Choose a shorter route or leave room for a museum stop.

For a lighter budget, our free New York outings connects parks, public landmarks and the Staten Island Ferry. Allow separately for transport, meals and any ticketed extras.
