Goshen, Hudson Valley · A full family day beyond Manhattan
By CenterNYC Editorial · Sources checked October 12, 2026
At home, the LEGO landscape usually ends at the edge of the living-room rug. In Goshen, the children get to walk into it. The pleasure of LEGOLAND New York is that familiar, slightly ridiculous change of scale: the small plastic world becomes somewhere to spend the day.
At a glance: LEGOLAND New York is an outdoor theme-park destination at 1 LEGOLAND Way, Goshen. It is designed principally for families with children aged 2–12. Reserve a full day, including travel from Manhattan, and choose an operating date before booking. The park says it does not offer kosher food.

A park for builders, not just thrill seekers
The best reason to make this journey is a child who will enjoy the LEGO world itself. If your family’s dream outing is a succession of extreme roller coasters, compare other parks before committing. LEGOLAND’s stated 2–12 audience is a useful starting point, not a promise that every ride suits every child in that range.
Begin with the experiences that match your family. LEGO Factory Adventure Ride turns the idea of making bricks into an attraction. NINJAGO gives fans a familiar world to step into; the Dragon brings the castle setting to a coaster; Miniland rewards the child who likes stopping to notice tiny details. The official park overview introduces these highlights. Let children choose two priorities before you arrive, rather than discovering halfway through the day that everyone had a different must-do.
Age and height restrictions belong to each ride. A younger child’s enthusiasm cannot override them, and being old enough for park admission does not mean being eligible for every attraction. Use the current ride information before promising a particular experience. Families with sensory or mobility needs should also read the park’s accessibility guidance before buying.
What are you actually buying?
Start with the official ticket page. Park-only tickets, a bus-and-park package, hotel packages and passes are different products. The date matters: prices and opening hours are not fixed throughout the year. We do not carry expired promotions forward as current discounts.
| Option | Budget point |
|---|---|
| Park-only admission | Use the price for your chosen date; do not mistake a pass or transport package for a single-day ticket. |
| Admission + return Coach USA bus | The official extras page listed adults $106.99 and children $90.49 before tax when checked October 12. Confirm the child age band and final price in your booking. |
| Children under 2 | Park admission is free, but the bus journey still needs a purchased transportation ticket. |
| Driving | Add parking, fuel and tolls to the admission budget. A current parking price has not been verified here. |
The bus figures come from the official extras and experiences page. Two adult packages plus two eligible child packages would total $394.96 before tax. That is a worked example for this particular package, not a complete family-day budget: food and other extras remain separate.
The reservation instructions require admission and an advance reservation for each guest aged two or older. Follow the process for the ticket you actually own, especially an open-dated or third-party ticket.
From Manhattan: give the journey its own space
The park is in Goshen, about 60 miles northwest of New York City—not a subway ride across Manhattan. For planning, allow roughly 90–120 minutes each way from Midtown, with additional time for reaching your bus, parking or entering the park. This is our allowance, not a live route prediction; traffic can extend it. Keep the return trip in the day’s plan.
The official directions page gives the address as 1 LEGOLAND Way, Goshen, NY 10924. Open LEGOLAND New York in Google Maps.
Without a car, the park sells an admission-and-return-bus package from Port Authority in Midtown. Its transport page lists Gate 409 on the fourth floor, outward departures at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., and return departures at 3:45, 5 and 6:15 p.m. Use the departures confirmed for your operating date rather than assuming every listed bus runs every day. Decide on the return before the children find one more ride.
The food plan starts before the gate
The park’s kosher-food answer is straightforward: it currently offers no kosher food options. A hotel breakfast, vegetarian dish or ingredient list is not a kosher recommendation.
There is an important distinction in the food rules. The dietary-needs guidance allows guests with dietary restrictions to bring food, while the security rules list outside food and coolers among prohibited items. Arrange your kosher-meal exception and permitted container directly with the park before leaving. Do not arrive relying on a general promise that any picnic or cooler will be admitted.
Choose food that travels safely and make a practical plan for keeping it at the right temperature within the approved arrangements. Our kosher restaurant guides can help with a meal before or after the outing; they are not a claim that a restaurant is next door to the park.
How to make the day feel like a holiday
Our suggested rhythm is one area at a time, with a real lunch break and room to repeat a favorite. A child who has finally found the thing they love does not need to be hurried onward merely because another attraction appears on the map. Miniland can also provide a change of pace between rides.
Check the operating calendar for your actual day. Seasonal events and individual attractions may have different availability. For Shabbat-observant families, choose an operating Sunday through Thursday outside Jewish holidays; Friday is a poor choice for a long return journey. This outdoor park is not our default rainy-day recommendation.
A city-based alternative may be the better fit when time or weather is tight. Compare the New York Hall of Science for hands-on exploration, or Liberty Science Center for a museum day across the Hudson. Our New York with kids guide helps choose a day that fits the family rather than adding another obligation.
